When did you get started as a barista and how?
in 1999 I worked as a "coffeegirl" at the bakery in my neighborhood in Durham NC. I was 16 and i had no idea what i was doing. But over the years I have learned alot from my peers and coffee professionals that I have met along the way.

Where would you like to be a guest barista?
anywhere there is coffee to be brewed
If you couldn’t be a barista - what would you be doing?
teaching. making art. travel writing.

First piece of brewing equipment?
a single cup french press when i was 15 from my dad.
What is your favorite shift and why?
I love working in the mornings. I love getting to know regulars and being part of their morning routine as they are a part of mine too.
