When did you get started as a barista and how?
I had a friend who recommended me for a job, and I’ve loved coffee since the 5th grade…though I’ve moved toward purity since then.
Who is your mentor in brewing?
Caty Rentmeester, of course. Conor Johnson is up there as well.

If you couldn’t be a barista - what would you be doing?
At home being my own barista.

First piece of brewing equipment?
My own was a Phillips Senseo that I bought in college to brew single cup stuff that didn’t taste like mud
What is your favorite shift and why?
Open. Love getting people on the right track in the morning
What in-season single origin coffee are you currently enjoying?
Our new microlot Comlombia ‘finca filadelfia’ is astounding, beautiful sweet citrus notes and insanely vibrant cup!
What is your current favorite recipe to brew on a trifecta?
India ‘yelnoorkhan mist’ or Guatemala ‘asobagri’
